Over these past few years, I had read and extremely impressed with the second genration (Indian|Pakistani)-American authors, who tell stories of Indian/Pakistani life, sometimes in fiction and sometimes not.  Any uprooted souls (even if voluntarily), would find the following stories induce/enhance the longing for motherland and will make you wonder what are you doing here now and what is in hold for the future for you and your family.

  1. The Girl from Foreign by Sadia Shepard
  2. The Inheritance of Loss by Kiran Desai
  3. Interpreter of Maladies by Jhumpa Lahiri
